You can expect a safe space with acceptance and gentleness. I will ask you what brings you to counselling and from there we can begin to work together on what your concerns are.
Sometimes I may give you homework to do between sessions but the focus remains on you and the pace you want to go at.
I use a Person-Centred approach, which means I show you empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness. I work with you, where you are at, without judgement. This approach follows the belief that clients are the experts in their own lives. So rather than providing you with solutions, I will support you to discover your way forward.
Sometimes I will use techniques from other modalities, such as Acceptance and
Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) or Gestalt Therapy, if we both agree these tools will benefit you.
I have a Bachelor of Business; a Graduate Diploma of Counselling (Christian) and am also currently studying a Masters of Counselling.
